Teaching

Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly

James 3:1

This morning at church I had the great opportunity to preach the sermon. I’ve been up there a handful of times with my pastor, passing the metaphorical torch back and forth to bring the message. Today was my first time up there alone on a Sunday morning. It was an amazing experience. The Lord has certainly been teaching me as I prepared it. It was a joy to receive positive feedback afterward. Surrounded by the smiling faces of many friends and acquaintances, the experience could not have been more fulfilling.

The Lord has continued to teach me who I am and who he is forming me to be. Today was a strong affirmation of the ability he has given me to teach. I’ve found that one of my greatest joys in life is journeying around the lands of the Bible and then telling people about it. If this leads to more of that, it sounds like a journey worth taking! I need to continue to trust him.

What’s it like on the Sea of Galilee? Ooo, let me tell you!
