For to us a child is born,
Isaiah 9:6-7
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.
People gathered again at the Church of the Nativity, the traditional place of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. Although nothing like the humble conditions that Jesus was born under, the place and this day serve as a reminder that our Savior came into this world to walk among us, to teach us, to die for us, and to live for us. Most importantly, we remember that he will come again. May it be soon!
