I’m sorry if I’ve disappointed you in the lack of bloggage the last few months. That will now change, which means a new trip. Yes, I am sitting in an airport, waiting for a Boeing 777 to take me back to Israel. This will be my fifth time there. It’s almost becoming routine.
If I’ve been there so many times, what keeps drawing me back? There is more to see! More to experience! More to learn! What’s more, this will be a new experience; I will be joining an archaeological dig at the site of Tel Dan. For years I’ve learned about archaeology and what has been found. Now I get to be part of it.
When I’ve been telling people that I’m doing this trip, the common question is what I’ll find. I don’t know yet because I haven’t found it! I do know there will be lots of pottery. But archaeology isn’t so much about what is found but rather what is learned. What do we learn by digging up ancient civilizations? What light does it shed on the world of the Bible?
Come follow along in my latest adventure! Come learn the story of the site of Tel Dan, and what it’s like to participate in a dig. And maybe a few others bytes of information along the way…
